The Junior League of Omaha warmly welcomes Association of Junior League International (AJLI) members who have found a new home for themselves in Omaha. If you are moving to the Omaha area and are interested in joining our League, we would love to have you!

Situated on the Missouri River, Omaha is home to four Fortune 500 companies and is consistently ranked among the best cities to live in the U.S. We invented the Reuben sandwich, play host to thousands of College World Series fans each summer and are fortunate to have an incredibly philanthropic community. Since 1919, the Junior League of Omaha has worked hard to make Omaha an even better place to live. With approximately 300 active and new members, we logged over 12,000 volunteer hours last year and have raised over $2.4 million to date. We have a vibrant League and hope you will join us!

To transfer to the Junior League of Omaha, you must notify your current League. The transfer process differs between Leagues, so please check your League’s website or reach out to its corresponding secretary for more information. Once your transfer is processed, you will receive an email confirmation from AJLI.

Your current League will notify the Junior League of Omaha of your intent to transfer. Our corresponding secretary will then reach out to you via email. She will include our placement chair and transfer member engagement specialist in her communications so that you have a couple points of contact. Once we know more about your prior League experience and interests, we will find a placement for you.

Transfers are also welcome to join our new member classes where, through speakers and site visits, you will learn about our League’s history, and local arts, health, educational and social services organizations.

First, our transfer member engagement specialist will provide you with details on your League obligations for the year and how to meet them. We will also get you access to your Junior League of Omaha member page so you can sign up for events and receive League communications.

Second, we schedule transfer member socials twice a year. This is a great opportunity for you to meet other transfer members and swap stories of your involvement in other Leagues. Our transfer member engagement specialist will provide you with transfer social dates and times.

Finally, you should expect to make new friends and learn more about Omaha.

If you have any questions about transferring to the Junior League of Omaha, please contact our corresponding secretary.
